Christmas at derekwattersgolf.co.uk
I am sure you are all sitting at work or home writing your Santa list. Over the next few weeks I will be announcing some fantastic offers all based around your Christmas wishlist. Look out for these special offers in-store and in this newsflash.
What have I been up to?
This week I attended the Gents Prizegiving. The guest speaker this year was Gordon Sherry, who provided a fantastic insight into his life as a golfer, from his coaching time spent with Bob Torrance to the amazing times he spent playing in the Major Championships. I am sure everyone who attended enjoyed the talk and also the fantastic 3-course-meal provided by Faisal. Pictures will follow next week.
Due to the horrible weather, I never made it to West Kilbride for the Alliance. I think seeing the rainfall for so long now always makes it difficult to motivate yourself to get out on the links. With some colder and drier weather forecast for the weekend, I hope to see lots of you about this Saturday/Sunday.
Race to Dundonald
Great news, M&H are now setting up the computer and my new winter competition is all set to kick-off on Sunday, 6 December. The top seven will qualify to play in the Grand Final at Dundonald Links in March. A quick recap of rules:
Play will be from the full white tee markers
18-hole monthly event will take place on 1st Sunday of each month
9-hole event will take place on last Wednesday of each month over the back nine
Stableford format will apply
Full handicap
Mats will be used (as per winter GGC rules)
Handicap reductions (awaiting authorisation)
I hope this new venture will encourage someone you to play at least once each month.
With the horrendous rainfall, strong winds and stormy weather the staff have not been able to do too much to the course. However, at the start of this week full hollow-coring has commenced on the greens - this did give the ducks a fright who were enjoying their bath!
I only have a few of the Callaway balls special remaining in stock. With this amazing deal you can get two dozen of the Callaway Chrome Soft for £49.99 including a free hat! The other deal is on the Supersoft ball where you can buy two dozen for £29.99 while stocks last.
