This week we are really into winter with foggy conditions meeting us on a few mornings. The tees have been moved forward and fairway mats are now compulsory for all players. Winter wheels or hedgehogs are required on all electric trolleys. Work continues on the course with all greens and tees now verti-drained.
New winter ranges
Over the last few weeks I have been receiving plenty of winter stock with deliveries from several companies, including Glenmuir, to compliment the stock that arrived in late September/October.
This winter I have decided to stock a winter boot, full sizes are available in store at a brilliant £69.99 (including metal spikes). On Saturday they proved very popular with the winter golfers and I have already put in another order to fulfil all of your queries.
We also have a fantastic range of clothing including logo wear. I have brought in a small range including zip neck sweaters, winter gilets and wind tops.
Christmas Raffle
Yes it is that time of year again - Halloween is over and bonfire night is upon us. From this Saturday I will be starting to sell tickets that will all go towards my Xmas Raffle which will be drawn again on the 24th December. As usual your support is appreciated.
Lost and found - For a matter of weeks there has been a set of clubs lying in the Gents locker room. Please if anyone can identify these it would be appreciated before they are taken.
This week one of our members has been celebrating his 70th birthday. Congratulations to Bill Stevenson - we are all looking forward to a bit of your cake!
Race to Dundonald - I am delighted to announce that I am going to run a new competition over the winter which will culminate in seven players going to Dundonald in March to play for a new trophy. With the introduction of a new monthly Midweek and Weekend Winter Medals, the top seven players will play at Dundonald along with myself in a Finals Day. Details of this event will follow next week.
Thom Bateman Winter League - I have been asked by many members and some of the new guys to what you can play in during the winter season. Every Saturday the Club Stableford is available to all, this event is a cumulative total ran all winter, your best six scores are used to find the winner.
