Although the weekend golf was a washout and a disappointing end to the season, we are now into Winter League season - the time when some of you seem to play your best golf.
Work has been going on this week and by Friday all the greens will have been verti-drained. As always we will try and stay on the greens as much as we can during winter, but if we get any frost this winter it will be the reason for using our prepared winter greens. Commencing on Monday we will be reverting to Winter Rules which means use of winter tees, fairway mats, hedgehogs or winter wheels on all powered trollies. Mats are available to buy from the shop and bar.
If you require winter wheels or hedgehogs these will all be in stock this week. As per the last few years, members who have purchased Motocaddy in last few months which come with a tread will be given their 1st winter hedgehog or winter wheels free. Please adhere to using the paths around the winter tees and try not to walk over wet, muddy areas - in particular the area off the 10th tee. There is a path here and it would help greatly if this was used by all.
Thursday, 5 November: Our annual community bonfire event at 7pm. The firework display will start at 7:15pm. This event was a huge success last year with over 400 people in attendance.
Saturday, 14 November: 2015 Gents Prizegiving with guest speaker Gordon Sherry. A booking sheet is now available behind bar for this event, this is filling up fast. I urge all prize winners to get their name down ASAP. Cost this year is £20 and includes your dinner - entertainment and a free pint!
The shoe clearance sale has been a success with only a few pairs remaining. So move fast if you would like a new pair at a bargain price.
This weekend all of my stock bags will go on sale also with huge reductions, some up to 60% off RRP.
