We have a very busy few days coming up this week, so here it goes:
Fri 11 Sep - On Friday we host our annual Sponsors' Day, and with a new format this year of letting our main sponsors bring two teams of four players to the club, it promises to be a busy afternoon. Members should be aware that the 1st tee will be reserved from 11am to 3pm.
Sat 12 Sep - On Saturday we have our September Medal which, if this good weather continues, promises to be a busy one and also in the evening David & Allan have another fantastic Quiz Night planned.
Sun 13 Sep - Sunday is Pink Day at Gourock with the ladies taking over for the Mixed Flag event. The tee will be booked between 12.30pm and 3pm. With all proceeds going to Cancer Research, any donations can be made directly to Lady Captain Norma or left in pro shop. We also have a visiting society on Sunday morning, Thermo-Fisher make their first visit to GGC to host their annual golf day, a warm welcome awaits. They will have the tee from 10am for seventeen players.
As some of you are aware, we have recently competed a drone flyover of the course and clubhouse. This is now complete and the full 18 individual holes are now able to be viewed on our website by clicking here.
In addition, we have also done a promotional video so please have a look at the video here (click on the image) and if possible share with all your friends around the world. Our course really does come across fantastically well including our amazing views.
Alan and I had a brilliant day at Haggs Castle last Friday. Although not shooting enough birdies to make the flight to Turkey, we did manage to finish three-under-par and certainly did not disgrace the club. The course was in amazing condition and I urge everyone to try and play it at some point.
This week the shop will be taking on a new look as with all of my new Autumn/Winter stock arriving, I have decided to move things about a little. I have new kit from ProQuip, Sunderland, Lyle & Scott as well as Callaway all due in imminently. I look forward to your feedback on the new ranges.
On a final note I will take this opportunity to say a big happy birthday to my right hand man John. 81 on Wednesday and still going strong. As I eluded to during my speech on Pro's Day, I don't ever quite get the chance to say a proper thank you to John, he helps me so much and I could not do my job without him.
