Well after a fantastic weekend, my 9th Professional's Day is complete. With the weather gods shining upon us over the day and only a couple of showers, we got all of the 160 players round dry. Although not dry on the inside with everyone enjoying the beer and BBQ tent!! The field all seemed to have a good time and the clubhouse was jammed for the prizegiving/raffle.
We had our customary bit of fun with a few pin positions (14 & 18) and wacky drive at the first. Here are a few snippets including the location of Robert's drive from the 1st hole.
My 2015 champions were the team led by Chris McNelis, comprising Paul Carroll, Paddy Marner and my guest Craig Sweeney. Here is a picture of the winners minus Craig after the festivities. Craig is in the other picture with his small hip flask.
The main winners in the raffle were Chris Ayliffe and Jim Fish. Chris is the new owner of a Callaway mini driver with Jim winning a new Odyssey putter. Thank you to everyone who bought and supported my raffle this year. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the members for their support this year and for making this particular Pro's Day so successful. It was amazing to see the club so busy all day and in particular between 7pm and 8pm for the prizegiving. Roll on my testimonial Pro's Day next year!!
This week I am heading to Haggs Castle GC to compete in the regional qualifier of the Captain/Pro. Captain Alan is in fine form after his win in members/guest and I hope we can hole a few putts and maybe get on the winner's flight to Turkey.
This September weekend we have a number of events on around the club.
- Friday 5pm - Georgia vs Scotland in the vital Euro Championship qualifier
- Friday 7pm - McKenzie and Garrity Acoustic Session £10 inc gourmet BBQ
- Monday 7.45pm - Scotland vs Germany
There are still spaces for the Friday cabaret, please contact Stephen and staff to secure your table.
