Good morning golfers,
What a weekend we just had! Sun, rain, wind, hail, and now a flooded golf course! As we enter June let's hope the weather gods begin to shine on us and our links.
Euan's Cause
In just over a week's time I will join seven friends and members to take on the challenge of four rounds of golf in one day. Having completed a similar challenge a few years ago I am looking forward to the physical challenge this will pose. Now is the time to support us by buying some raffle tickets or bidding on some of the phenomenal auction prizes we have. Raffle tickets are now available to buy from the pro shop or from the bar at GGC. Whether it be the threeball at Loch Lomond or the hospitality package at St James Park or even the signed authentic GUN guitar, there is something for you all! We are now taking bids on all of our items please call into pro shop for a full list of items or email on pro@gourockgolfclub.com.
To accompany us on our last leg of the challenge we now have a full quota of members and friends playing at Gourock on the afternoon of 12th June. With tee times all filled between 2-5.30pm, this is an amazing turnout and in advance we would like to thank everyone involved. DJ Craig will entertain all of our friends and families after their golf and we welcome everyone up to the club on the evening on the 12th.
2015 Cameron - Due to last week's poor weather we now only know the finalists in all sections. The finals will be completed this month, keep your eyes peeled here for more details. In Section One, the top qualifiers Barry Hayes & Robert Clark will do battle. Section Two sees Martin Turner play David Slack and Section Three will see Euan MacGregor come up against Stevie McGowan
2015 Pro's Day - Only three weeks remain until my 9th Pro's Day, the start sheet will go live on Saturday 13th for all teams. I am already planning my revenge pin position for a few holes. If you would like to reserve a space prior to this then sponsorship packages are available, please get in touch here ASAP.
Last week saw the Captain's Prize and WE Turner round one. With a decent day for golf and times being hard to come by we had a decent entry of 130! Winners on the day were Andy Howell in Section One, Angus Mackay in Section Two, Malcolm Keenan in Section Three. Raffle results are as follows: W/C 22nd winner -Tom McMaster; W/C 29th - Richie Campbell.
