As you all know this week I have Callaway Golf visiting GGC. All of the members who have booked will be receiving a FREE custom fitting session with Euan Cameron (fitting technician), as always I appreciate your patience during these events.

In order to work around all the club competition ties that are on I have decided to use the teaching shed, with a strong wind forecast expected this will also ensure the event goes ahead. Everyone who has booked will be shuttled up to shed for their appointment.

Please check into the pro shop 10 minutes before your allotted slot.

Last weekend we had the MacGlashan Cup fourball event being played, with a slightly depleted field due to the Ton game at Cappielow and a cold wind blowing. There was a four-way tie on 68 between: Tommy Toots and Gav, A.Howell and B.Litterick, S.Tepper and J.Connor, and M.Duncan and I.Minton. On a BIH countback, congratulations to Gavin and Thomas who have ensured their place at the 2015 prizegiving.

This weekend we have the TO Neill fourball competition, which is an internal club competition. It follows the same betterball format as last Saturday so let's hope for a good weekend!

I would like to thank all of the members for their support last weekend which saw me head to Aberfeldy to do white water rafting in aid of Brain Tumour UK.

You were all very generous with your donations which led to me gathering £321. It was a tough six mile stretch which had all the muscles being used, thanks again!

This week I am heading up to Aberdeen to experience Trump Balmedie Links. This is my first visit to play there and I am very much looking forward to it.

We are about to commence our Tuesday Junior Classes. These will start next week (12th May) and again we hope to follow on from the success in 2014 and build on our recent Easter Camp. With the help of our newly qualified ClubGolf coaches and Ladies Champion Maureen Woodhead, it is an exciting time for juniors at GGC. As usual these sessions are FREE to all who attend and there is no need to book just roll up and bring your friends. We will be using the area around the 1st tee/1st hole and putting green.

Finally, a huge congratulations to all of the Morton squad, Manager Jim Duffy and Hadji McPherson. It is great to have our local team back in with the big boys.
