Following on from the Murrays winning the Sam Esler for a third time, our other Winter Leagues were all decided last Saturday. On a miserable morning a few of the Hardy Annuals braved horrible conditions to play the final event.

Coming out top this winter was Gordon Crae with Brian Litterick a close runner-up. The Club Stableford was down to just two with Jake sitting back and watching big Stevie Murray brave the monsoon conditions to try and grab the 40 points which would give him the trophy. A valiant effort but just not good enough for our runner-up Mr Stevie Murray. Well done to 2014/15 winner Jake MacPherson.

The last winter group teed off at their normal lunchtime after a warm-up in the bar. Going into the final week Dr Craig led the group with John MacDougall a close second. Dr Jim held on and increased his lead to win by a clear margin of three. Congratulations to all the winter winners pictured below.

   

We have almost completed our bar renovation, work is ongoing with a completion date of Good Friday (see picture above). It is looking great and I hope you can all enjoy a beer or coffee over the Easter weekend.

This weekend will see that start of the competition season at GGC with our annual All Members Scramble. Tee times are available through our BRS system and there are a few teams looking for one or two players to make up their fourball. Any help required don't hesitate to contact the pro shop.

With the unseasonal weather continuing the course is a little soggy. Winter repairs to a burst pipe at 12/13 has been repaired and work on the 9th path will start next week. With this in mind, we are to remain using mats at this time. The Greens Committee and I will keep you all up to date as to when we will go onto preferred lies on the fairway.

As we enter the Easter break I would like to remind you of the Easter Camp we are holding on the second week of the holidays. Taking place on Monday 13th-Thursday 16th we will welcome 24 local school children to our inaugural camp. It should be noted that camp is now FULL. For this to happen we will take over the first hole around the clubhouse and hopefully the putting green if it is open. Your patience while playing is appreciated.

This week has seen a huge number of deliveries. Please bear with me whilst I unpack and move the stock into display position. With the 2015 range of Galvin Green, Wilson Staff, SkyCaddie, Motocaddy, Superstroke and FootJoy products all arriving it has been a busy week.
