A lovely dry weekend at GGC saw a very busy golf course and on Saturday the Club Stableford had a few more names on the entry sheet. It was great to see the sunshine back, let's hope we get a good start to April and see more sights like this!
Jake Macpherson showed his title credentials with another great haul of 38 points, this now draws him level at the top with Stevie Murray. There are two counting weeks left to decide who gets their hands on the trophy. G McMaster took second place, ahead of A Howell and B McVean who followed closely. Two twos were made on the day by Bill Goodwin and John Millar.
With the season only a few weeks away the Bar area is about to undergo a facelift, works start on Friday with the removal of the draught lagers and juice pumps. From Sunday there will be a temporary bar area set up, please be patient with us during this time as the final outcome will be fantastic. We will run a limited service with bottled beers, cans and coffee available during this time, works are expected to take around 10 days.
Greens Update - As we bask in the spring sunshine you will all be delighted to know that the greens have been cut and rolled and the staff have started with cutting tees and surrounds in preparation for start of season.
With no tournaments this week I headed to St Andrews with clubhouse manager Stephen, past champion Higgins and past Hathaway winner Callum Watson for a game at the Fairmont courses. As you can see from the picture, we encountered some foggy conditions and some very fast greens. For the record books the pro and clubhouse manager ran out winners by 2 holes!
My lesson special offer has been very popular! Due to this I have now stopped taking on more clients. Lesson prices for the 2015 season will be displayed in store and on website very soon.
