Welcome to this week's newsletter,
I am delighted to announce, after many years of trying to find a suitable location, I have finally managed to secure a slot in St Columba's High School for my Ladies' Class. After many meetings and conversations with our new community sports hub and Inverclyde Active Schools, this slot was secured.
The aim of this new indoor class is to try and drive/encourage new lady members as well as helping our current ladies with their golf. The class will take place on a Monday evening between 7.35pm and 8.30pm. The class will run for 5 weeks beginning on Monday, 17th November until 15th December. Cost will be £25 for the five week block payable on week one, places are limited so please contact me here as soon as possible to secure your place.
Work is continuing on the Winter Programme. Below you will see some pictures I took of the new ditch at 11 and16. The boys are putting the finishing touches to this new feature which will hopefully dry up the areas around the bottom half of the 16th fairway.
The Gents' Prizegiving on Saturday was a great evening! We were entertained by renowned after dinner speaker John Gahagan and he certainly put his all into the performance. Congratulations to all our 2014 winners.
Winter rules are now in play. Mats are required and if you have an electric trolley it will need to have winter wheels or Hedgehogs, any queries on wheels please contact the pro-shop.
As you all know, every medal competition we keep 10% of the sweep monies to pay out at end of season to the persons who manage to record a hole-in-one. This season we have had two holes-in-one during medal play. The winners, who will share the ace pot, are Stephen Blair and Andrew Howell! Both guys will each have £201.10 added to their accounts. Well done!
