The Ryder Cup is finally here. The most eagerly awaited team competition in world of golf has hit our links, the players are here and battle is about to commence. Let's hope this great event goes well and by Sunday afternoon we are all celebrating a resounding European victory.
Below you will see a couple of pictures of Daragh and I on the first tee last Sunday when we picked up our uniform. I have to say it is a very impressive setting and has excited me for the competition to start.
Daragh and I have had our shifts confirmed and after Tuesday at the Junior Ryder Cup, we will be inside the ropes on Wednesday practice and wait for it.............................
Saturday morning fourballs - Game 3 (8.05am)
To say we are both a little excited would be an understatement! Today we were lucky to get the headline match at Blairgowrie today, where Bradley Neil (British amateur Champion) faced Sam Burns (America junior PGA champion & No 1 player).
The standard was truly amazing and being able to be close to these guys was an absolute pleasure, it only whets our appetite for the remainder of the week.
Over the weekend we will have some beer promotions running on conjunction with Ryder Cup. The European lager being San Miguel and the American represented by Miller Genuine Draft - all bottles £1.50 while stocks last.
This weekend we played the
2014 Mixed Open at the third attempt. We arrived on Sunday to a beautiful sunny day, play went ahead and the successful winners (pictured here) were ladies VC Norma Ramsay and past member Alan Minton. Well done!
This Saturday we will have the Vice-Captain's Prize and also the rearranged monthly medal which we lost to a long fog delay.
On Sunday we were planning on running a nine hole scramble before play gets going during the final round. I have had little response to this but I will still put on an individual stableford which will include a bacon roll on completion of play.
The SALE RAIL is emptying quickly as is the hardware stand. With lots of drivers being sold there are only a few left so get in to store quick to grab that end of season bargain.
Coming Soon - Callaway's new V series range is about to appear in store. With the classic warbird sole and hot face this new range of drivers and fairways will be a hit, ask Derek for more details. The new autumn/winter Gore range from Adidas is about to hit the shop very soon also, with a mix of windtops and waterproofs tops and jackets in a variety of colours. Galvin Green's 2014 winter collection is on way as we speak, pop in to see this amazing new collection.
Last week I was down in London to play in the Srixon/Clevleand invitational. I will fill you all in on the details next week as this edition has been filled up by a small event in Perthshire.
I hope everyone enjoys the three days of watching the best golf event we have.
