Welcome to my newsletter,
As I write this, Captain Paul McGinley has just announced his 3 wildcard picks. I am absolutely delighted to see scot Stephen Gallacher in the team - his play this year has been amazing and having met Stephen a few times it is a great achievement for him and great for Scotland to have a home player in our Ryder Cup! Do you agree with the Captain's picks? Click here and let me know!
With this event now approaching we are finalising some plans for our final day at Gourock. I know some of you have purchased tickets and will be there but we are expecting to have a large number in the clubhouse on Sunday to create a great atmosphere to watch the closing stages. I would like to run an event on the Sunday morning and then get you all upstairs into club after - more details to follow next week.
This week we are continuing to clear out the summer stock and we still have a few bargains on the SALE rail and a good selection of shoes as well. Please come into shop and grab a bargain.
Our Ryder Cup promotion is still on with only a few polo shirts and jumpers remaining:
Buy any Ryder Cup garment and receive a sleeve of Pro V1 for FREE!
Today the club is hosting the Renfrewshire Ladies County September Medal. The course/1st tee will be closed up until 11.30am - sorry for any inconvenience caused.
A huge congratulations to Hugh Haig (pictured here with the William Munro Trophy) for winning our own Seniors' Open. Last Thursday saw Hugh score an amazing nett 68. Congratulations also to Allan McEwing on his gross 77 to win the scratch prize.
This weekend we hosted the Inverclyde Open. This Gents' event, which we host every four years, was held on a beautiful sunny day and saw Mark Coyle lift the scratch prize with a super 75. I wouldn't like to take too much credit but that 9 hole lesson we had during the summer break has certainly helped his golf!!!!!
We also had another home winner in the handicap category, on form Andy Howell produced a great nett 68 to lift this prize Well done guys.
Now that the final selection has been made we can all get ready for the start of the biggest event Scotland has ever seen, please come up to club and be part of watching the Ryder Cup.
