Well this weekend has seen the conclusion of the Gents & Ladies competitions.
Firstly a huge congratulations to Maureen Woodhead on her hard fought win over Margie, this win has given Maureen her 21st title.
Onto the Gents where Chris Mooney held a 1shot lead over the chasing pack after last weekend's first round, a beautiful but windy day awaited the guys. The course was in excellent condition and some tricky pins cut near to the front with very fast greens it was going to be an interesting afternoon.
Chris was chased the whole way and coming into the back nine his closest challenger's were playing partner Barry Hayes & Past champion Steven Higgins, with both of these guys making lots of birdies. Chris held his nerve after making the par of his life at 14, and playing the last 4 solidly, he held on for a1 shot victory.
Congratulations to member Stevie Blair on his hole in one last Wednesday, this came at the 7th during the midweek stableford. Here you will see a happy Mr Blair after his round. Stevie will now be the happy recipient of a limited edition Hugo Boss watch courtesy of Howdidido.
Equipment update
As I now approach the time of year where all the companies are planning towards launching new product for the 2015 season. I will be lucky enough to see a lot of this in the coming weeks. On Sunday I was playing at Sandyhills in Glasgow, we somehow missed the deluge of rain that fell down our way and I managed to finish in a tie for 11th with a 1over 71. Next up is a 36 hole event at Cawder & Hayston.
