Welcome back to my newsletter after I took a week's holiday to recover from Pro's Day. I hope everyone enjoys the Open Championship which begins today at Hoylake. My tip for the week is Adam Scott!
With the season in full flight we are now entering the countdown to Championship season for all parts of our membership. Please remember Gents & Seniors to put your name on the entry sheets now up in the clubhouse.
Congratulations to Ross McDermid who has secured his seat at the prizegiving with another major win, this time in the Burgh Trophy. Following on from the Cameron Cup, Ross shot an impressive 71 (nett 67) on Saturday to secure this win. Well done Rossco.
Another winner was on Saturday was Jim Wall who scored another good scratch score (75) to win the scratch prize following Ross' decision to take the bigger trophy!!
Ladies Burgh - Due to extreme heavy rain yesterday morning we had to postpone the event until next Wednesday, 23rd June! As usual the course will be closed until 3pm, let's hope the weather behaves for our ladies who have put in a lot of effort.
Junior coaching - The last few weeks have seen an ever increasing number of boys and girls attend our evening sessions. Last week 42 turned up and this week there were 34. Thank you to all the the adult helpers who have been turning out to assist in great new initiative.
The course has enjoyed the sunny weather, only last week we were having to use the watering system to keep some of the grass on our newer greens. Let's hope the course can remain like this for the remainder of the season.
Please come into shop for a look at the fantastic offers we have for you! There are some amazing deals on balls and apparel which are not to be missed!
As we count down to the start of the Ryder Cup I have just taken delivery of the new phase of Ryder Cup clothing from Glenmuir.
