Our 4 free demo hours have been well attended and we have been kept busy with members dropping in to have a look around.

Euan's Cause

On Saturday Robert Clark had his latest charity event with some of us pulling on our football boots and playing our bi-annual match v the Horseshoe Bar.
 
Taking place at Battery Park the game ended in a resounding 5-0 win for team Euan Cause with star performances from GGC members Gordon McKillop, Andrew MacPherson, Bobby Davis and of course myself - strolling through the match in my favoured slot in defence.

To follow this up we are delighted to announce that we will be hosting the next golf day in 2018 with the boys again completing a longest day challenge in conjunction with a charity event at Gourock Golf Club - watch this space for an announcement of a date.

Competition news

T O Neill

On Saturday this greensome event was played and the winners were Brian Moore & Stevie McGowan with a fabulous nett 64. Another team trophy for the cabinet boys.

WS Hawthorne Trophies

Monday saw the conclusion of the Monday 9 hole events with a few players still in with a chance of winning. Unfortunately no one caught the leaders and we can now announce that in the over 70's John McDougall managed to pip his playing partner Logan Young by 3 shots to win on 186. The over 60's saw a new name on the trophy with Charlie Sweeney beating Malcolm Harris on a countback after both players tied on 178.

Well done to all players and again to club captain Bill Hawthorne for the continued sponsorship.
