Greetings golfers,

It's championship week at Gourock and we are all hopeful that the weather clears and we get a fine day on Saturday for the ladies & gents to finalise our 2017 champions.

Emma Boyd is challenger to Maureen this year and we wish them all the best for a close final. In the gents Steven Higgins defends the title with Robert Clark/John Jack & junior Josh Greer the closest challengers
- Gillen Champion Fraser Mckillop will be hoping to find his form and post a score for the low guys to sit up and notice.

Congrats to Jim McNee and partner Scott Young on their defence of the M&G trophy - a countback was required this year before they could be confirmed as winners. A huge thanks to our new sponsor Clyde Injury Clinic.


Burgh Trophy

Last weekend we also held the re-arranged Burgh with early starter John McPaul taking the early lead with a nett 72. As the day wore on and the weather worsened this score remained at the top of the leaderboard. The course survived just as the rain became heavier and afternoon starter Steven Higgins posted a gross 77 to take the scratch prize.

With the SS at 75 reductions were only due to so many high scores and the nett 72 was good enough to see John crowned Burgh Champion for 2017.

Sponsors Caledonian MacBrayne were in attendance to hand over the trophy after play and we thank them for sponsoring this year.

Indoor Development Centre

You will all have noticed the scaffolding has gone up and along with the ground works being completed. The next stage will see the framework arrive and being erected very soon. Pictures to follow next week.
