Cameron Cup winners crowned

On Monday night our 3 Cameron Cup finals were played, the course was basking in sunshine and warm conditions, all the competitors enjoyed the lovely greens.  

The winners were: 

Section 1: Steven Higgins (9th CC victory) 
Section 2: David Lindsay 
Section 3: Finlay Campbell

Gillen Open 

A huge congratulations to Fraser McKillop on his fantastic scratch 72 (nett 67) on Sunday to win our annual Gillen Trophy. This year the event was sponsored by Allan McGhee at Green Oak Funeral Services, thanks to Allan. On Sunday I attended, along with some Gourock friends, a charity event at Port Glasgow GC, in aid of an autism charity. It was great fun to play another local course and enjoy their hospitality, although not winning this year, we all had a great day out.

 

Course Update 

This week we have recommenced our program of works on the fairways with deep scarification taking place. Please bear with Hugh and his staff as they try to get round all 18 holes this week. As I write we are awaiting an RGU visit to determine if we can utilise the preferred lie rule for competitions. A club update will follow on this matter.

The Morton Community Girl's Golf Day is scheduled for this Friday 23rd has been postponed. The BRS system has been updated.
