The Sun is still here and this morning we were putting water ONTO the course! Some of our newer greens are burning up and baking so water it is and they are all getting very fast.
Professional's Day - The sheet is now FULL. If anyone is still looking for a game please contact me in the shop or here ASAP. I am looking for raffle prizes and donations to the bar - if anyone would like to drop a bottle in it would be greatly appreciated.
Tour News - No tournaments for myself this week but I have been catching up with some of my pupils and helping them sort their game. Remember if you need a quick lesson or even a help on the greens then we can get you fixed. Click here to view what lessons are available and at what cost.
The course has changed dramatically now with all the dry weather and this has resulted in some fantastic scoring over the weekend. In section 3 there were two fantastic nett 66 - special mention to DC Thomson who did this including a nervy 10 at the last. Section 2 saw Ian Robertson come back in gross 2 under to shoot gross 75; nett 63! Well done Ian - The match & handicap will be convening a special meeting for handicap review. John Jack returned from his pitch and putt practise at Millport to record a fantastic gross 69 in Section 1.
Congratulations to Steven Higgins on winning the scratch Gillen Trophy last weekend, recording a fantastic gross 69. Jim Wall narrowly lost out on the handicap prize losing by one shot to Paul Connor (Paisley).
A reminder that this Tuesday sees the start of our new Junior Academy evenings. Every Tuesday of the next 7/8 weeks we will welcome kids to the club to try golf, some for the first time. In order to do this we will use the 1st fairway and the putting green - your patience with this new initiative is appreciated. All donations of old junior clubs and balls would be appreciated.
