The sun has arrived. Finally after months of waiting we have basked in glorious sun all week. It is great to come to work and see the course looking fantastic and DRY!!
Just arrived in store are the new Adidas Gripmore shoes, worn by US open champion Martin Kaymer during his win last week.
Please ask to see them as they are a very comfortable shoe and aligned with the new sole very good in sloppy conditions.
You can find out more about this shoe on my website here.
The sheet for Professional's Day has filled up well and there is only a couple of times sillavailable. Please contact the pro-shop for further details.
I am now accepting raffle prizes, if anyone would like to drop a bottle in it would be greatly appreciated.
Last week I told you all Jim Wall was my partner for the Lombard Qualifier @ Crieff golf club.
We headed north hoping to play well and qualify for the national final at Gleneagles in early September. Well the news is we did play well , shooting a fabulous 8 under better ball, we both thought playing the 18th that this was good enough to win but unfortunately another team from Musselburgh matched our score.
We were unlucky to lose out on BIH and as we came back in 3 under opposed to their five. I was gutted as this is the best result I have had in this event as Professional at Gourock!
Here is a snap of Jim with his prize for second place.
Next week sees the start of our new Junior Academy evenings.
Every Tuesday of the next 7/8 weeks we will welcome the young to the club to try golf, some for the first time. In order to do this we will use the first fairway and the putting green, your patience with this new initiative is appreciated. All donations of old junior clubs and balls would be appreciated.
