Greetings golfers,

January has almost gone and we are now approaching the season with the hope of good weather and an ever improving golf course. Last week we saw the greens being cut, top dressed and the weekend players were delighted to play on them after a heavy frost descended upon the course late on Friday night. After an early Saturday inspection, Course Manager Hugh was delighted to keep the big greens on, commenting that the frost had not penetrated the greens due to the top dressing mix, brilliant news.

Last week the new drain across 18 was completed with parts going down a full metre to join up with existing drains, Greens Convenor Andrew was up checking progress with son Bobby. 

When a weather window appears the drain will be turfed with new grass, please take care around this area until further notice.




We still have a massive sale on everything in an effort to clear the rails and shelves to make space for new stock arriving in early April. From the remains of our PUMA 16 stock, to the small amount of Gourock Logo sweaters, to the winter boots, everything must go. 

Prices will be low for a limited period, until 18th February. You will be allowed to use your accounts and as always I require the accounts to be used / lowered by end of the month which is also the end of my financial year.

My Travels

Although my playing season hasn't started yet I have been hitting some balls and preparing my game, including having a look at what's in my bag and what I want to replace. 

Callaway's new Epic driver has certainly been hitting the headlines and in a few weeks I am going to go and get fitted at the performance centre in St Andrews.
