USA deserved the victory
We all hoped for another miracle like at Medinah in 2012, but Hazeltine proved a step too far for our European boys this weekend - 9.5 to 6.5, 3 points behind going into day 3. Although rookies Thomas Pieters and Rafa Cabrera-Bello did their best and Sergio matched the amazing Mickelson, it was just too big a gap to overcome.
I hope you all enjoyed the 3 days of golf, and now only 727 days until battle commences at Le Golf National for the 2018 event.
With new daily deliveries arriving, the shop is full to the brim for the winter. New stock has arrived from Sunderland and Under Armour which will keep you warm during the crisp wind and freezing conditions of the Winter League.
Member Willie Sweeney is pictured here with the new winter mitts which have recently arrived. An essential for the winter season, these are available in red - blue and pink for the ladies.
Watch out in next few weeks for news on a new winter competition every Monday which will be open to all members.
This Friday we will see the second Ambassador Club Draw, taking place in the clubhouse at 8pm. A first prize of £270 is up for grabs with 4 prizes available this month.
The club continues to be very busy with social functions and private bookings, please keep up to date by checking the notice board and please ask any member of staff.
The Highland Tour
A huge thanks to everyone for their messages and support while I was away last week playing the Highland Links event at Castle Stuart-Royal Dornoch & Nairn West. My team, pictured below, were from Italy and Switzerland - Romano and Jean - David and Christian - and we had a cracking 3 days together.
My scores of level par at Nairn & Castle Stuart added to my +2 at Dornoch, meaning a 20th place finish and a small cheque to take home.
The courses were in amazing condition and an absolute pleasure to play, if you are lucky enough to play these then enjoy.
