It's that time of year again
My 10th Pro's Day is nearly here and with only five days to go until the busiest Saturday of the year, it is all systems go. I have 40 teams booked in so far and the planning is going well for the must-play event, with loads of special prizes and a prize table to rival the best. As in previous years I urge you all to leave the cars at home, come and have a couple of beers or wine and enjoy. Fancy dress is encouraged and fun & laughter is all that I am looking for. There will be a raffle on the go with Ardgowan Hospice being the main beneficiaries. To follow on from the last nine years, the format will be a 4-person team with the two best nett scores on the first nine holes followed by only one nett score on the whole of the back nine. There will be a few novelty pin positions including a "Professional & Greenkeeper's Revenge. Can all members get in contact with Derek to confirm their start times and team members please.
Junior academy
The academy has now restarted and with the school kids heading back this week, our junior academy will be on until further notice. The older boys and girls also now have the option of Sunday night golf with six holes - a huge thanks to John Jack and his team including Andy Macpherson and vice-captain Ian for their support for this event.
Mixed Open - Our annual event was taking place this weekend with Carolyn Craig again in charge, ensuring that all of our entrants enjoyed a fun day out on the course. The organisation put into this event in particular makes it one of our most popular competitions of the year, a full clubhouse making it a super day. Pictures and full list of results will feature next week.
Annual Dance - This year Men of Motown are our headline act on the 15th October. Stephen and his staff are now taking bookings, please get in touch to reserve a table.
Clubhouse update
This week (Friday) we are hosting the Senit Foundation 2016 Golf Day, an annual event which will see 108 golfers play and support the charity. Aileen Deeney & Stuart McCartney have again organised a fantastic day. Due to this there is no available tables in the restaurant.
With Pro's Day expected to host around 160 people, there is also no tables available in the restaurant on Saturday.
On Sunday the Carvery makes a welcome return, please call the bar on 01475 631001 to reserve your table.
