Hello golfers,
Congratulations to our new champions crowned last week. Graham Aitken is our Seniors Champin and Niall Gallacher is the 2016 Junior Champion. Pictures and a full report, including this weekend's Championship, will be in my newsletter next week. On Saturday we host the men's and ladies events with a new men's champion certain to be crowned as John Greer is not able to get back from Oz. In the ladies final due to be played on Saturday afternoon, Maureen takes on Rosie Slack. Good luck to all.
On my return after a week off, there has been lots of new deliveries to the shop. I now have the full collection of Callaway Truvis Chrome Soft balls in stock; if you would like to join Tom Watson and use the colourful ball please pop into shop - sleeves starting at just £9. New collections from Puma & Under Armour have also hit the store, over the next few days I will be displaying and pricing this new summer stock. There are a few bargains still left in the bag sale - be quick before the sale finishes at end of July.
2016 Member's Guest - This season our annual member's guest event is on 7th August. Entries are now been taken with a sheet on the upstairs notice board. We have added to the prize table this year with very special prizes included on the novelty holes. At time of writing, we have 40 pairs entered so get your name on the list quickly.
2016 Ladies Burgh - After two failed attempts, the ladies have rearranged this event for Sunday, 4 September. Let's hope the weather is better so Norma and her team can get this important tournament played.
2016 Mixed Open - Carolyn Craig has worked very hard and this year's Mixed Open is now full. It taks place on Sunday, 14 August with a fantastic list of sponsors and prizes.
Ladies Outing to Cardross - On Tuesday, Morag Cowe led a group of ladies over the Erskine Bridge to play at Cardross, with us hosting the committee and ladies from Cardross the same day. Both parties had a great day and in particular the visitors loved our fantastic views from the club and the exquisite meal served by Adrian & Mary.
As you are hopefully all aware, Chef Adrian is now in post and his first couple of weeks have been extremely busy. The Sunday Carvery is now firmly back on the calendar and both weeks have been full - please try to book in advance to avoid disappointment. A tasting night held on Saturday proved very popular and many of you enjoyed the tapas food that you were able to sample. Please get in touch with the bar to book a table for any evening.
