Another great week of weather and the course is looking absolutely fabulous. As I write this we are getting a few hours of rain which, in all honesty, will not do the course any harm at all. Work has continued this week with all the fairways now scarified and on Tuesday we have had a demo take place of another machine.

As of Sunday, 15 May we NO LONGER have preferred lies in use. The extension that was granted by RGU has ran out and it is now play as it lies. Please keep an eye on the noticeboard as there may be some daily alterations on certain fairways whilst work is continuing.




Reciprocal Golf - Last week we had another group visit Hilton Park utilising our new reciprocal deal. At the time of writing I have booked in a group of 16 seniors to visit at the end of the month. Please get in touch if you would like to visit any of our reciprocal courses, including Lanark, Crieff, Ralston or Hilton Park. I visited Blairgowrie with a Gourock group last week, using the Braid deal. We played all of the fabulous courses, you have to go and try to play these amazing courses this year.

125th Anniversary Local Courses - Some of our closest courses are celebrating their 125th anniversaries this season - Cowal, Skelmorlie and Largs. Please try and get around our local friends and support them all. I am heading down to Largs this Friday to play in their Anniversary Pro-Am where ex-Ryder Cup Captain and Largs old-boy Sam Torrance will also be participating. Let's hope I can get the putter working and see what score it may bring round my old track.




Last weekend we held our qualifiers for both the Cameron Cup and Lombard Trophy. Leading qualifier in the Lombard, and my partner at Cawder in June, is Gordon McKillop. Gordon led the field with a fantastic nett 64, let's hope that we can be successful and get a trip to Portugal in September. The Cameron Cup field is looking strong with Callum Watson leading the qualifiers. The matchplay stages start on Monday 23rd with all players playing matchplay with no strokes.




This week I have Cobra visiting to let all of you try their new King F6 product. With lots of players using the new kit on both the European and PGA Tours, it will prove interesting to see the product at Gourock. Click here to learn more.

My second collection of Under Armour clothing is due to be delivered this Thursday. After the success of the first delivery, it will be great to see the new stuff. As before once it's gone I can't get anymore - sorry.
